25 Aug Gold at the 2026 Heathcote Wine Show

Kings of Kangaroo Ground have been awarded a Gold Medal at the 2026 Heathcote Wine Show for our 2022 Avondale Shiraz.

This wine was awarded 95 points and was equal top Gold of class at the show.

Class comments for Class 6 Older Shiraz (2022-21) were “A very good class of wines, where the best wines really stood out with their vibrant colours, depth of fruit, and overall wine balance. Non award winners looking mature and dried out”.

Comments from the judges on our 2022 Shiraz were “Some reduction on nose but good complexity on palate, good depth of flavour”.

This wine has had several years in the bottle to mature and integrate and we are very happy with how it now presents, as recognised by the Heathcote judges.

Our 2022 Avondale Shiraz is available now and on tasting every Saturday at our Cellar Door.

The wine will also be on the table for tasting at the upcoming Spring edition of Nillumbik Hills Open Cellars on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2026, so put those dates in the diary.
